| I'll be in L.A. in a few weeks and would like to beat the heat and get a day sesh in at Horse Flats. Should I buy the Adventure Pass if I'm going for the day? I'll be there from 10am to 4pm. What are the chances I'd get checked? | FLAG |

So anybody know the fine for not having the pass? Is this something you display on the car, or carry it around? | FLAG |

| The fine used to be just the price of the day pass $5. But day pass might cost more now and the fine might be higher - not entirely sure. If you're in a rental car then it shouldn't matter anyways? | FLAG |

| Make sure not to park in one of the empty campground sites.

| I don't understand Adam's reply. Having said that, it's my understanding that the road to Horse Flats was closed (from ACH), so it may be a pain to reach. Easy on a mt. bike, a pain to walk. If the road is open and the campground is open, you'll probably get tagged, though I don't know what the fine is. The campground host is kind of a tool and likes nothing better than handing out paper. Also, if you can drive to the CG, park just outside of it since, if you park in the CG, he'll also hand out a ticket for day use of the CG. Personally, while I think the fee is LAME, especially since a good portion of the proceeds goes toward enforcement of fee. Still, when I know I'll be parking in an area that's patrolled, I just suck it up and pay. | FLAG |

| I have a pass that expires at the end of July that I won't be using. It's yours if you want it. (you might spend $5 in gas picking it up though) | FLAG |

| If I recall, the dopey Adventure Pass costs $5.00 and the fine for not having one is $5.00. So.... getting popped is the same as buying the pass, except the tools bring the "pass" to you! | FLAG |

I meant walk from ACH, which is at least a couple miles of paved road before even reaching the campground, where it's still a walk to the boulders. Having said that, i was in the area on Tuesday and the gate is open, so you can drive. | FLAG |

| You will need the pass. Now that the main road is back open they have checked every time i have been up there. Also keep in mind that they will gong you for parking in the camp ground even with a pass. | FLAG |

| I was there a week or two ago... we parked in the campground and got the ticket to pay the campground fee. We had our annual Fed pass hanging (which grants half off on campgrounds) but we still got writ up for the 12 dollar campground fee. Either pay the 12 for the shorter walk or hang and adventure pass at the day use parking lot. | FLAG |
