Hi, I just posted a link to where folks could go to find out about the possible closure of the world class NEEDLES.

I posted to almost all of the regional boards, because I feel that this is issue of national importance.

Not 5 min later most of the post are gone.

So what gives????

Did I mess with your rules?

Didn't mean to.

Posting it to 5 boards isn't contributing. Post one good one in Midwest climbing and let folks chat about it if they are interested.

I'm guessing he means the California Needles and losing them would be bad.
However, I hate multiple posting. Pick one forum and bump it once in a while.

I sent you a personal email as I saw you creating all the duplicates. And then deleted all but one.

So you guys dont really care about the Needles????

It is a National Treasure, and to keep it open we need tons of imput ASAP, like the next 48 hrs.

I wanted to get the word out to all climbers all over the USA.

And I figgured this would be a good way to do that.

Starting to understand MP more and more.

later dudes.

Yeah 'dude'

Nobody here cares about the Needles

More understanding...

Eric... read rule #1

So when they wish to close ELDO... we wont care at all.

Is that the way you folks hang??

I mean you all have a sticky on don't let Muir Valley close on the main page....

Hey Guy,

I don't think Nick meant any disrespect. Those guys are just trying to keep things consolidated.

Sounds like your heart is in the right place - trying to protect an incredible climbing area. I'm going to check it out now.

Guy, it's because you are not a forum mod. Even though I've never been to the Needles, I'd hate to see it close much more than Muir valley. But what can you do?

No worries, 90% of the folks on MP are pretty cool. I have made some friends from this site.

It might have been nice of if the mods had moved it to the General and put a stickey on it..

Maybe do a service to all the climbers in the USA.

Good day to all.

Guy,

It was just a bad conclusion to jump to... That people on this site don't care about the Needles. The statement that you are 'starting to understand MP more and more' just sounded to me to be a little whiney... Or like it violated rule #1. Like Geir said, they are trying to keep things consolidated. A better approach might have been to contact the region's mods and request a sticky or front page mention.

Guy I just sent an email with "I want to join the SSCA" in the subject header to pkpaul@springvillewireless.com.
To those here posting "no concern because it isn't in my back yard" you better wake the fuck up.
It can happen anywhere.

Multiple posts are really annoying. First, they make it impossible to have a centralized discussion. Which post are you supposed to answer? Second, they clog up queue on the main page. And there is no reason to do it to get attention - if it is worth talking about people will post and it will stay at the top of the queue.

But what really annoys me is your indignant "don't you care????" attitude. Of course we fucking care. It's just that we also like acting like adults.

To reiterate: I don't care if aliens have landed and are threatening to turn every cliff on the planet into popcorn unless they get 10,000 likes on their Facebook page. Post about it once, thank you.

Guy,

Most people here click on the "view latest posts in all forums" link. Thats why you see dudes from GA commenting on CO stuff and vice versa. Everyone looks at ALL the posts...well...because we do.

Everyone cares, but they don't care to see multiples of one post.

Trust me one post with an occasional bump is good man.

OK... learned something new about the "Latest Posts" ...

please forgive, never happen again.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
