Hey, I'm looking for a Leader who would be willing to help me learn Trad basics. Such as gear placement, topping out, rope craft tricks. I've been Top Roping for a while, but I would like to start getting into the world of trad.

Hi. I don't climb at the Dacks,so i can't offer to climb with you. However, you might be more successful in finding a partner if you know how to lead belay. Without know this essential skill you can only join and make a party of 3. Often times, climbing with 3 people is less than ideal. You might want to think about hitting up a gym and learning this.

Hey Matt, thanks for the advice, but I have been a lead belay before. maybe I should have included that, I appreciate your time and awareness.

I climb in the Dacks most of the summer (north facing slopes are the only way to get through the heat and humidity). I already have a pretty good collection of regular partners, but feel free to shoot me an email. We (my partners and I) often climb multi-pitch in parties of 3 if the routes are suited for it.

You might also check out Meetup. They often have group climbing events and while the climbing aspect of them is nothing special, it's a great way to expand your partner base.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
