Description

This area has been around for ever. Some friends and I decided to clean it up for bouldering. When cleaning some of the rock for holds you'll notice that the moss has in some areas given this area stained green rocks. The area is named after fontainebleau, France the world class bouldering area. This area is a great area to work on some tough Palisades boulder climbs.

Getting There

If noone is stayin camp sites 19E or 20 you can park. ( Not during summer) A Taste Of Fontainebleau is following the stream. You cross a small bridge when going to camp sites 19 E and 20 the road is a one way only.

Dr. Green Thumb V1 5  SD : Palisades State Park : A Taste Of Fontainebleau
The Crux is starting out you start low on the Arete and work your right arm up the right side and the left arm up the left side. Crimpy moves lead to a side pull then from there its a huge fat sloper right in the middle of the arete about 7ft up. From here it gets easier but this is still the big part of the problem is solving how to balance just right to get up and around the sloper. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in SD
