Description

This area lies between Yellow Lichen Buttress and Saturday Buttress and contains several dirty routes in the 5.8-5.9, all of which according to Mike Farris are "not worth doing".

Getting There

From the parking lot off Rock County 8 take the paved bike and pedestrian path until the cliff line is clearly visible. Take the approach trail that cuts a right angle with the paved trail through the grass to the base of Saturday Buttress and continue to the left to the base of this buttress.

Very similar in style and appearance to Stinger. This is a stout top-rope problem up the steepest part of the bulge on the many cracks buttress. The route starts on the easy ledges in the access gully, then at 10 feet the route starts on painfully small edges then moves into powerful side-pulling then a crux high-step and deadpoint to the one good jug. Several more 5.10+ moves on dirty rock will take you to the top. ...[more]   Browse More Classics in MN

The guidebook says "dirty and hardly worth doing" before each of these routes, but I think otherwise. If you are looking for moderate trad leads this place has 5 lines!
