2015 SPRING ZION WALL CLOSURES

Do you know if the Angels landing closure includes moonlight buttress? Thanks! |
Moonlight is not affected by the nesting falcons. Get on it an have fun. Though it maybe a little damp still. |
Moonlight is open.....it's not located on angels landing |
Other areas aren't as expansive as you might think. I.e. The tunnel wall closure only includes the lower tunnel entrance to the first switchback.....it doesn't affect the cragmont area or the Kung fu area. Even ataxia tower is open. The wilderness desk has good maps of the exact closure areas. |
Thanks ray, I was wondering what they meant by tunnel wall. I think it was closed last year to and we still got to climb at cragmount and kung-fu. |
Before climbing near any closure areas it is always wise to stop by the wilderness desk at the visitors center to check up to date information. There you can view closure maps, and speak with the ranger on duty. In my experience on the tunnel wall only ashtar command, and the headache are open during this time of the year. Normally the confluence is open to climbing, but I'm not sure about the kung fu theater. |
Shune's is located on Red Arch Mountain. |
Correct, shunes is open. The headache is open and all climbs to the left into the cragmont area are open. All stuff in the Kung fu theatre is open. |

For specific questions about exactly where it is closed, look it up on this site. You can compare guidebook maps to these and figure it out. |
The maps are awesome, thanks for the link. I was able to clear up all my questions. Except, it seems like the plumb line/tatoween side of the cowboy ridge is closed. But, is the ridge closed? |
I know zion just got some snow/rain. Trying to head down there this weekend. Just curious if anyone knows how wet the rock is and if it should be good to go by friday? Figured i'd ask before driving down and getting on something to find out it shouldn't be climbed on. Thanks in advance! |
I was down this past weekend. highs in the mid 70's, and dry before. From the forecast this week it's just been breezy down there as this system moves through northern utah. Maybe one of the local boyz can give you a better real time update. |
That would be sweet. There in a week! |
Yeah i was hoping maybe someone in springdale could give me some info? I looked at the web cams and it looks like there is still snow on the top of everything. Nothing on the walls though, i know this stuff takes time to dry so i figured some what has to have an idea of how wet the stone is down there. |

It's beven pretty warm during the afternoon and it barEly even rained in the canyon your fine |
