At the crux. <br />Photo: Roth.
The "Direct Finish", 8 something, lies above and left of Tony, climbing over some small ceiling and into the sunny right facing corner, then over another ceiling. Tony has decided not to continue due to major rope drag and running out of gear. The crux roof of Strawberry Shortcut is down and left of Tony.

Did this July 2007, thinking we were doing Cruising for Burgers. -- Hey gettin' old, no guidebook, whatever. Maybe we did it differently from other folks, but the crux move out right from a small overhang is very thin and committing -- No way it is 9+, even by the old standards for Eldo. To me anyway, the move was harder than anything on Break on Through (rated 10b), which we had just completed before. And finally, S or R seems right to me. Given all of the above, it IS worth doing, whether other climbs are taken or not.
