Dang...that would suck. Fingers crossed they get it worked out ASAP.

Sigh. That certainly sucks. I was going to try to special order some things from them that they didn't have in stock just to help keep the shop in town, but yeesh, that seems like it may be a recipe to never see my gear.

We're trying, man, we're trying. Just waiting for our product to show up and get this thing rolling again. It's a lot more fun talking about climbing and skiing gear than answering reporters about this stuff.

Anybody, feel free to holler if you have questions - 303-499-8866. I'll do what I can to answer them. Been working here since 2009, been shopping here and living in Boulder/Ned since 1991 back in the days when Gary sold J-Rat and the very first Dynafit bindings in North America. The store isn't where we want it right now. It's a tough time and that hurts because there is a lot of passion for this place with our customers and staff. If we have any say in how this all plays out, we're going to get it back to that good place.

Take care,

Hope it works out. Gotta get in there to buy some more rock shoes. Thanks for being there.

I'm no Donald Trump business genius, but I'm pretty sure a retail store with no product is not a great business model. At this point the longer they keep the doors open with nothing to sell, the deeper they will be in debt. It appears that backwoods declaring bankruptcy may be neptune's best hope.

I, for one, am pulling for Neptune. I like being able to talk to real climbers when I am thinking of a purchase--like Dan Hare, for example. Yeah, REI might have what you need, but it is often hit or miss to get really expert advice.

If you currently work at Neptune's, I would get your last paycheck that cashed and get out.

The signs on a wall are clear.

I wouldn't be holding my breath Dan. If they aren't paying rent, odds are they aren't paying their suppliers either. OH, and I'd be asking for my paycheck in cash if I was you.

Sounds to me like Backwoods might be going under or, at the very least, is having some cash flow issues. If stock levels have been low for months that means vendors have had them on credit hold for not paying their bills. Maybe they are trying to set themselves up for an acquisition by another company?

So sad to hear.. Sorry to all my friends who work there, and all the loyal folks whom love the store!

I know it's none of your fault, you folks are great!

So what happened to the sweet, sweet gigantic cam over the counter? It was sad to walk in there and not see it...
