Has anyone had experience with the Patagonia Adze jacket in terms of water resistance? Would it hold up in a downpour or just a light sprinkle? Any other comments about it? Thanks!

I've gotten about a year of use in it, and this is what I can say. It will hold up to rain pretty well. However the waterproofing is really only there on the softshell fabric. The breathable fabric by the armpits, waste, etc. don't repell water at all.

It's enough to get you through light rain and stay warm. It won't keep you dry in a monsoon. Remember that the DWR does need replacing on this jackets.

As for durability, the softshell is bomber. The breathable part is kind of easy to scrape on sandstone and limestone. I went with the non hooded version because the hood is just too small to go over a helmet, but too big to go under one. (I use a Mammut El Cap for reference) I'd buy it again though

I have two Adze jackets, actually. Great jacket. Sleeves are a little long, but otherwise it's a great article of clothing.

And as Justin said, it's limited but decent in its ability to keep your dry. Not meant for rain, but it will hold up to a reasonable degree.

I have one and love love love it! We don't see a ton of rain in Colorado so I can't comment on it's use in the rain. For durability, warmth, and mobility it's awesome!
