FYI the Buffalo Road access from Rumney Village to the parking lots is closed "for several weeks" due to bridge/road repair. To get to Rumney now stay on Rte 25 west past the turn for Rumney Village for a few miles then turn right on Sand Hill Road which will drop off at Buffalo Road again, West of the parking.

Wow, just in time for the Labor Day weekend and then the rendezvous....heading up there early in the morning.

Best part is the lousy detour sign the work team put up - it's only visible if you've already turned onto Buffalo, realized it was closed, and then turned around to leave. But the detour sign just takes you back to 25 with no further explanation of where to go.

What's the latest on the closure? I haven't been up there since early September.

Still there last Saturday

According to the town DPW:

Buffalo Road Closure

The South end of Buffalo Road (near the library) will be closed to traffic this summer while the bridge is being replaced.

There has been a delay in the delivery of the new guardrails. They are due to arrive October 10th.

Even though the bridge may appear passable, vehicles are not allowed on it until the guardrails are in place.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
