So unless immigrants are moving to/displacing people to Colorado, transplants might be a minor factor compared to simple population growth. Colorado is the second fastest growing state and Denver is the fastest growing "large" city according to census data. I dont suspect that is due to Colorado Springs fight against contraception.

Ah, I see if I zoom into 2010-2015, as discussed here ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_… ), Colorado is indeed growing faster than the rest of the US over that time period. I was looking 2000-2015 before. Goes to show you can make the data say anything.

People (myself included) complain a lot about this because you can actually feel the pinch of the crowding. More and more friends are foregoing season ski passes or literally moving back to wherever they came from originally. It's not Cali traffic by a long shot, but things are definitely on an upward trend.

It is an insult to SLC to even compare it to Denver.

Ironically drinking a beer in the profile pic.
Not to mention the life-ruining effects of getting caught with the chronic, having your rights dictated by religionists, the inversion cloud, homogeneous population, no sports teams........

Amy, I see you mentioned XC skiing. I don't know about Denver metro area, but in the Fort Collins area you could look at Wellington. There's a bunch of XC skiing in Red Feather & right across the border in Wyoming, I'm told, and there's PVH & MCR nearby via I-25. Wellington, being somewhat of a bedroom community, is not as expensive as Fort Collins, and smaller.

Oh, I don't disbelieve. Ski traffic in particular can get miserable, I'm pretty much skipping passes this year too. I'm just curious how much is immigration to the state, vs ordinary population growth via children.

According to many sources, it is immigration to the state due to marijuana legalization.

Ah crud, forgot about that. We need to hurry up and get everywhere else to legalize it, then.

The weed is a major factor in driving the robust economy.

I have several friends that have got a BSN from Adams St in alamosa and gone on to good things. The area is cheap $$ for rent and such but enconomically distant

Still, really good climbing and boarding

What are these sources Eric? I don't doubt that it might play a factor for some but id be willing to bet it's more the sunshine and mountains.

Slightly outdated but here is just one source. Spend 5 minutes using google and you will find dozens. washingtonpost.com/news/won…

It will definitely bust again, unless the last 150 years are wrong and the sunny happy real estate agents are correct..... Like they weren't around 2006-2007 when they were telling everyone their investment could not lose.

Colorado has always had a real estate market full of outside investors. When there is the slightest sign of weakness in the market those folks will pull out quick since they don't live here and the bottom will drop out. I will predict this happening in the next calendar year. I may be wrong about that but it will crater eventually.

Heck, after reading that article Eric posted I'm ready for Denver. Move to CO, get me a pot job. Sounds sweet! Talk about weed all day, maybe water some plants. I see why so many are moving there. Who's hiring?
