I found this at a local dealer.. Has some cool LED lights and some special wiring to the rear topper. Just wondering what all the wiring and do dads were originally for.
My guess is the previous owner had it wired with lights because they were on a construction crew, or they were a volunteer firefighter and are now in jail for impersonating a police officer.
Some people like to wire up extra lights (which is what I see on the front). Typically illegal to operate these on paved roads, used for off-roading. I might end up adding some to my truck eventually. As far as the rear topper, what special wiring? There will be wiring to the third brake light, usually see that wired to the left brake light (so you'll see some wires running in the back left corner of the shell for that). Otherwise, some folks like to wire in other lights in the shell, just to have some light on the inside. I'll probably be doing a second battery and lights setup someday.
I understand the lights front and rear. Someone has a single 'red' wire running through the front wall of the shell by way of frame undercarriage. So there is just a single wire exposed in the rear camper shell.. Assume to extra battery, lights, heater, ac etc...
Also there are some female threaded inlays in the actual bed* itself. Something was screwed down to the bed of the truck. Just wondering what the plan was... looks pretty awesome
