Cottonwood Canyon - Oct 14

Hello!

My partner and I are visiting from California and are looking to climb Cottonwood Canyon on Oct 14 during the day. Would love to get a reasonably early jump on the day, but nothing too crazy since our flight is in around midnight on the 13th.

We will have a vehicle for transportation and are bringing our own gear. But would love to climb with someone(s) who are familiar with the area so we spend more time climbing - less time analyzing wether or not we'll lose gear if we attempt a route ;)

We can climb around max of 5.11 (b-ish), and feel comfortable leading around a 5.10 (a/b) but aren't aching to lead anything crazy - happy to let someone lead a harder route just to get a chance to climb it.

Get in touch :)

Which Cottonwood canyon, Big or Little?

Little Cottonwood is mostly light grey granite slabs ala tahquitz. Plenty of multi pitch options.

Big Cottonwood is brown quartzite that is smooth with lots of edging. Plenty of overhung sport crags. Some traditional and multi pitch stuff.

Both places are fun but the movement and challenge is quite different in the 2 canyons.

They are next door and you could climb both in the same day if you were so inclined.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
