Dear all..:)

Got this cam last week and used it at the crag once. Didn't take a fall on it so I'm not sure about its actual performance.

Basically The main cable/stem is not in centre with the lobes and side plates. One side is too wide (i can actually squeeze the lobes towards the stem about 3mm. On the other side, the rigid part of the trigger cables is snagging against the lobes when i fully trigger the device.

I live in Kenya, so I can't just walk into the shop and ask them. I've contacted BD with no response yet. Let's wait and see.

But i'd really appreciate your advice on this.

Lucas.

From the BD website:

";Q. The axles on my new C4 Camalot seem too long—what’s up?

A. On your new C4 Camalots it may appear that the cam axles are longer than you're used to seeing. This can be noticed by the amount of play, or the amount of side-to-side movement of the lobes on the axles. The play is there for a reason—to allow the lobes to move freely during use. This is intentional in the design and allows the cams to function properly in all conditions.";

Perfectly normal as others have said. One note, however. On larger cams, this has caused the lobes to rub the wires sometimes when the trigger is pulled causing a not so smooth pull. If this happens and bothers you just smack the cam in your hand to center the lobes.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
