Sorry for the basic vocabulary, MPers. This was written for a different audience. Rhymes with Bacefook. But it seems worth sharing here...

Once upon a time, I was 15. I was on a climbing trip with a 30 something named Kurt. I don't know why he dragged along a 15-year old. Must have been a loser. But not really, because he was always cool and kind.
We pulled up to a B&B near the Sierras (near Tuouolmne Meadows, in Yosemite National Park to be exact) and went in for breakfast.
Kurt checked something in the trunk and realized he'd forgotten all ALL his carabiners. You can't climb without carabiners. They connect your adventure to your rope.
Now, this story is about the generosity of the B&B owner, who would selflessly offer us the use of his whole rack of carabiners. But, we aren't there yet. First, I need to reminisce about his co-proprieter and wife. OMG. That tan, lean honey is why young boys' thoughts go astray.
Anyway, Kurt somehow mentioned that we were in the mountains to climb, but we didn't have any carabiners. Proprietor says: "Well, I could lend you some, if you don't run off with them."

And he gave us a rack of 20 carabiners. To total strangers from out of town. No ID no collateral.

We had a great adventure on Cathedral Peak in Tuolomne Meadows, and set off to drive home.We had lost one of the benefactor's biners somehow, and Kurt pulled the biner off his rear view mirror to make a good 20. We thanked the nice guy, and drove home.

Sorry, Sanllan, but in 1978 when I was 15, I just didn't have my iPhone with me. :) But she was softer, cuter, and more 70's natural than the bouldering babe in the picture.
