Just north of Homestretch and after the top of the Trough, there's a shallow gully/crack system. The climbing is easy, and gives access to the summit. Does it have a name?

I've past it many times while on the Keyhole Route, and never paid it too much attention. Made a fun, airy, scramble alt. to Homestretch.

Here's a photo mid route - the wall on the photo's left is the wall that separates this from Homestretch. The rock looks like large loafy bricks stacked on each other.

Interesting Justin. Last time I did the GGT we climbed pretty direct to the summit from the keyboard( I recall lots of slab-steps), but Im pretty sure we trended towards the homestretch eventually. Maybe BB, BW, or CN has some more insight.

A buddy and I climbed up that several years ago, but I didn't think it had a name or was distinct enough to consider a route name. We had a single rack and 30m, fairly new trad leaders, so we figured we'd explore around. The entire thing was fairly straightforward, if we were on the same route. There are a few different low 5th-5.5 lines to the top in that area.

Thanks everyone. I think Gillet has documented two chimney's in his RMNP guide, just called East Chimney and West Chimney, and has them at around 5.2. Although listed, he doesn't put them on any diagrams.

Seems like there's still a lot of uncertainty of grades and route definitions on the West side of things, as the great east face is just so classic.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
