"Epic pow day brah! I'm-a take my AT rig up the ridge and shralp the gnar. Face shots all day in coolies, grab your fat boards and lets send this shizz."

"No can do, my pup Makalu got a date with the groomer, my ear gauges are infected, and my shift at spro bar don't end until noon. Come by after, Weez got some killer dank heady nugs and a new dab rig, that shitz tight yo!"

I personally hate that word particularly the way it is used and abused in writing....

I comes from "ascend". Shortened/slurred it becomes "send/sent".

Mind you 'topo' similarly gets abused.

I just always assumed it was distilled from "Ascend" or "Ascent".

I always have trouble when people use "send" with regard to ice climbs. How do you not send ice climbs? It sounds as crazy as "redpointing" an ice climb (someone had told me that before), as in you were frikkin taking whippers on an ice climb?

^^^Normally found on Spraybooks and Instabrags captions as in "So-and-so sending "insert some lame hooked up WI4 here""

Two of the best terms I've heard recently, which reflects my view of Facebook. Do you mind if I "borrow" those terms? I'll give them back.

Huh?
What the hell meaning do you have for the abbreviation?

You send it if you get to the top. You don't send it if you don't...

"Send" means you get to the top without falling or pulling on gear. If you are doing otherwise on an ice climb, you are way over your head.

Does it? Various definitions disagree. The source of the abbreviation disagrees...

So now you are judging others based on your definition which is different from others and different from the source. If you are going to be high and mighty about language at least make sure you have a semi-decent foundation. You don't.

And stop using "were" when you mean "we're"

And...... don't come up with 55 seconds of credits and intro for a 3 minute video.

Patto, I used to think send was an abbreviation of ascend but there is absolutely no basis to this. There are a few forum posts that guess this but there is nothing other than assumption.

Maybe ascend is the root word but I really think it's just a coincidence. Odor is not an abbreviation of free loader, even though the two terms seem to have a lot in common.

Yea Bro (Brah, your preference) I'd rock that rig, its splitter yo. Sick.

Splitter is poor, but "I'd rock that?" Rock has been an adjective for way to long. I'd rock that? Rock what? How do you rock? Like a rock star? You'd wear that jacket like a rock star? What do you mean? Splitter yo.

I thought the idea of "sent it packing" and "sent it back where it belongs" an interesting alternative to the "ascend" root
