I just moved to Durango and am excited to get to know the local crags and community. I am an experienced trad/sport/big wall climber and boulderer with gear and ropes. Give me a shout if you need a belayer or wouldn't mind showing a new arrival around.

Hey Cody, I'm looking for a partner to climb with in the Durango area on July 28th-30th. Would like to do a few leads (trad/sport) and some harder TR. If interested, give me a shout.

I could show you around x rock (Trad and TR) and fume wall (sport) if you'd like. My knowledge and experience around East Animas (trad) is kind of limited the easy and/or popular stuff so I may not be quite as useful there. I'm always looking for new partners (often my partners' stoke level and/or schedule prevents them from climbing as frequently as I would like to) so I'd be happy to get out there with you. My number is (423) 504-7813

I am about to move to durango (job teaching geology starts in August) and will looking for partners. I won't be able to show you around, obviously, but if any of you guys need someone to go out climbing with, let me know! i have a double rack, rope, etc, and lead low tens on gear... Can follow a a bit harder. When the Creek season comes around I can show you around a bit more there! Although maybe you've already been there lots.

Not to hijack your posting, but where did you find housing in Durango? CL doesn't seem to have a ton of reasonably priced options...

If you need someone to go out with in a couple weeks, let me know! 719-306-8121.

Durango is pretty expensive to live in; that's the price for being in such a great town. In my experience, CL is the best you're going to get for searching for housing.

Thank you to all of you for getting back to me. I apologize for not responding sooner--I was out of town unexpectedly and am still getting settled in town.

Lance--I should be around the 28-30 and don't have any plans as of yet. I got out this morning so maybe Friday or Saturday would be best. Mornings work better than evenings but I have some flexibility.

Eli--I'll hit you up soon. I have climbed a few times at E. Animas but haven't yet checked out x-rock or fume wall. Until August 15, my schedule is pretty open but mornings usually work better than evenings, but as i wrote above, I'm pretty flexible. If you have plans and need a partner in the next few weeks, you can drop me a line as well: 509-845-9309

aajack--definitely drop me a line when you get to town. I have also climbed a bunch in the Creek and have a lot of gear and am happy to lead 10s-11s. RE: housing, it's tough. We lucked into a townhouse on the southside of downtown that barely fit our budget but I'm not kidding, we got lucky and the stars seemed to align. We needed 2 bed/2 bath and storage space but if you're looking for something smaller, you might have more luck. I would get on it as soon as you can--I hear that when the FLC students comes back it gets very competitive. We also started looking in May which probably helped. I am just starting a job teaching history at FLC--it will be great to have another climber on campus!

Go into The Rock Lounge and introduce yourself to Marcus Garcia. Good guy and he should be able to help you.

Hey Cody and all, I'll be in Durango from Aug 28 till 3 weeks after that. I lead trad and love to sport climb too. Let me know if anyone wants to get out!

I'm in the same boat with Eli, stoke/availability of partners. I'm surprised we haven't climbed together, for sure we've met somewhere. (918) 281-9362. The weather hasn't been friendly recently, but I'm almost always available afternoons and weekends.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
