I'm a boulderer primarily and was hoping to get on some boulders while I swing through colorado! I generally climb within the v4-6 six range but will get on 7s maybe 8s. what should i get on and where!! thanks
Josef, Colorado is a big state... Did you have an area in mind?
I have climbed a lot in the Denver area in that range... Here are some of my favorite spots:
Morrison South (Also called the dark side) Lots of boulders V4-V6, probably the best is Brashears Crack 2 which is rated V3 but will feel harder unless you have some fingerlock skills
Evergreen (Aldefer/3 Sisters) Many many good problems here. My favorites are: Work and Play Area Guiding Light (pretty easy, but super cool rock) Inward particle (fun slab) Bunch of other stuff If you want High Ball go to Brothers Lookout and check out best boulder problem in evergreen Gilligans island also has a bunch of pretty cool problems in the range
If you want a 15 foot tall, 40 foot wide dead vertical boulder in the middle of a grassy field with perfect landings, check out the millinium boulder in mathew winters park. I found the problems here to be very stiff, but it's one of the cooler boulders I have seen.
If you want to climb a whole bunch of somewhat contrived but really cool problems, you could check out the regular side of morrison. Note, it is pretty much an outdoor climbing gym.
