I haven't walked into Neptune but they only had the regular totem cams on their website, not the totem basics

Basics are so bulky though...

"Only 5-10 yrs". I'll take the opinion of someone who has climbed 3 times a week for 10 yrs over someone who has 10 times a year over 30 yrs. Which has more "experience"? For the record, I've been climbing for 30 yrs, but ran into a guide for a big service who has "only" been climbing for 10. According to your logic I should shun anything he says.

Totem basics and master cams are at completely to opposite side of the grip/expansion range spectrum. Buying one instead of the other is like buying apple to replace oranges....

Their performance characteristics are very different.

If you can't find them locally you can order from Totem directly . All in stock today, but probably won't last long.

Are you thinking of regular Totems? The basics are not bulky at all.

I got mine from Campsaver.com and was able to use a 20% off coupon.

How about that, you're right! They ship to just about anywhere else, including Canada.

Travis, there are several American retailers that sell totem basics. As mentioned, Campsaver has them and often on sale, and Rock and Snow in NY also carried them.

And, yeah...Basics are definitely not bulky. They're tiny!

As of today I can only seem to find the offset Totem Basics in stock online.

Nick Sweeney · · Spokane, WA · Joined Jun 2013 · Points: 969

They are hard to find in stock and harder to find on sale... keep your eye out!

Will do. Thanks again for all of the responses everyone, I've read a lot on the totem basics since posting this thread and if I can get my hands on them I'll grab the first three sizes.

Although that experience has some value, the real question is how many days does he have on MOPRO. That's the mileage that really counts.

Had a good chuckle at that one.

Regarding Totem Basic retailers, I got mine from the Gear Coop. You could keep an eye on them as well for when they restock. It looks like Backcountry has the hybrids, so maybe the carry the normal basics as well and are out of stock?

Ah indeed. My mistake. I actually messed around with some basics this summer along with the original totems, got them confused.

FYI, Totem Basics are in stock and available at the Epic TV Shop (ships to USA from UK) shop.epictv.com/en/cams-nut…

I just picked up the first three sizes!

Isn't the shipping for that fairly pricey?

Hmm...but with the Pound being trashed by Brexit, I bet you'd still make money on the conversion...

Shipping was insane, $40, but the cams were only $50 each and with all of the good reviws I went for 'em. Still cheaper than x4s at retail

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
