This is one of a couple of possible descents, and the one that will take you back to Minaret Lake.<br>

From Ampitheater Lake, traverse behind Ken Minaret at lake level. Head for South Notch, just south of the Minaret.

Looking at the direct start. Not as hard as .10a in my opinion. Just getting used to the rock being not granite and therefore a bit looser was the crux!

Looking back at the traverse after the first two direct start pitches. Watch you rope getting stuck in blocky corners as it did for me.

There were multiple options for rappel on the descent but they are all about halfway on the descent. Look for cairns along the way after following the airy ridgeline and dropping into the gully. After you veer left into the lower gully, look for an eroded foot path to the right that looks loke it ends at a cliff. That's the first rappel with black webbing. I noticed some people missed that and set up a rappel after scrambling farther down. We dropped in at the higher rappel, scrambled down the gully a bit, and found this second rappel which dropped us on the snow gully near the bottom. Without crampons you're looking at an interesting downclimb after this on slippery rock until you exit the gully.
