Ultimate European Climbing Trip (Late August to Early November)

Hello out there! I'm looking for skilled partners at different destinations in Europe.

My name's Ben Z, I'm 27 and I'll be traveling to Europe (having been in Israel for 2 weeks) at the end of August coming from Northern Arizona. Where exactly I'm not positive yet. I'm also on the fence whether I'll haul a pack around on the trains/buses or look into renting a car for easier access. Was wondering peoples opinions on that?

Places on the radar: Kalymnos, Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany Dolomites, Sardinia, Fontainebleau, Verdon Gorge. List is probably long enough.. I'll try to narrow it down for a future post in several weeks. I'm thinking I will fly into one of these places and move forward from there.

I like to climb as much quality stuff as I can and usually I'm not big on projecting routes. My background is more as a trad climber, but I enjoy it all from grade V multi-pitches to bouldering, and cragging, sport or trad. I'm a comfortable 5 11 climber and the hardest I've climbed is solid 5.12 on bolts and gear. Ideally I can meet people with a rope so I don't have to schlep one over. I can def bring draws - and a rack if necessary.

Thanks for Reading.

Big mountaineering packs aren't uncommon on trains. I've done it, myself.

I'm flying into Split Croatia sept7 and hoping to to find a partner to climb with, I think I will be bringing a rope and draws, not sure yet if I'm going to be taking the trad rack. Lets connect if you think you might be in the area around that time. I have no real set plans as to where I will be traveling in Croatia paklenica seems to be a good spot but I'm really down for anything.

Ben, or anybody else that is interested.
I will be in Romania from September 7th to September 27th. I know the language and I will have transportation (small car). I am bringing a rack and ropes. I would like to get on some bigger alpine climbs Grade III to V. Let me know if you would be interested in that. I am visiting family in Bucharest, so that will be base camp for me. I climb around 5.10 - 5.11, familiar with self-rescue, and I am a WFR.

Send me a PM or reply here if you want to climb in Romania. Bulgaria might be an option too. I know lots of climbers from Bucharest go there because it is closer, but I am not familiar with any routes there.

I'm seeing some pretty decent priced car rentals like 700-800 bucks for 2 months. So I'll have easier access. I don't think I'll be as far east as Romania, unless I hit up Greece later in the season. Paklencia looks cool. I'm thinking Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and France region. Climb in the Mountains earlier then go to warmer climates later in on the season.

Dude, that's a steal. I paid more than that for an Enterprise sedan for a week! Frickin' dicks.

I should be in Kalymnos the last 2 weeks of October. Do you know when you will be there?

Hi BenZH and everybody,
I want to climb the last two weeks in September anywhere close to the mediteranian sea (Croatia would be fine). I climb up to 6b and have rope, gear and a van. PM me if interested.
Cheers
Peter

Hey Ben Z! When in August will you be in Europe? I'll be there from the 16th til the 27th... I have no real itinerary, so I can travel wherever, but I will be staying in Germany. We climb at about the same level, so it would be cool to link up! Shoot me an email if you're interested!

That's probably the time I'll wander over there. Right when the weather starts to cool off. Ben

I'll be flying into Athens on August 23 and going up to Meteora. If there's anyone who wants to climb some scary conglomerate towers there hit me up. After sometime there I'll probably find my way to Kalymnos around mid to late September.

Anyone who's interested and still around Europe, I live in Cuenca, Spain for the month of August. Tons of climbing here. I'm looking for a partner or a few other climbers. It's hot here, so it's the slower season. If anyone is thinking about climbing in Spain, let me know. After August I might move into other parts of Europe, or maybe I'll still be here, who knows.

I'm going to be bouldering in Fontainebleau on September 23rd (Friday), 24th (Sat), and the 25th (Sunday). I'll have a car and am probably going to rent a pad during that time.

Any chance you or anyone else'll be in Fontainebleau around that time?

Still seeing if anyone is planning on climbing in central Greece from the end of August into September. I'll be staying very close to Meteora. Still looking for partners in Kalymnos too

I'm moving to Germany the first week of September and would be down to climb somewhere. I'll be free on weekends and will have my trad rack on me. Might be cool to do something in the Dolomites. PM me if any of that suits you!

I'll be available from Sept 6, departing from Sweden. Will have 70m rope and sport rack with me. Mainly sport climber, but also up for bouldering or trad.

Can link up anywhere in Europe for two weeks of climbing. You know where you'll be?

I like to climb whatever...

I have a rope and some draws but no trad rack
