Tiers of Zion :: new routes??

So our climbing party checked out Tiers of Zion this morning, and noticed there are two newly bolted routes to the right and up one tier from The Burning Bush/Irie. One route looks to be a new first pitch/approach to Zion Train and no clue on the other except it has a terrible 2 bolt anchor placement that may be due to poor rock at the top. Three Little Birds is a classic and fun route but suspect anchor placement also (note: lots of drag, use long alpine draws).

Can anyone supply any beta on these two new routes?

Thanks in advance!

Hi David,
The routes you found are not so new, actually. That panel of rock is called the Recessed Slab, and you can find a full description of it and the routes here: mountainproject.com/v/b-rec…

The left bolted line is not a new approach to Zion Train, although it can be used as such. It is Don't Rock My Boat, a 2-pitch 5.7. The other is Cornmeal Porridge.

Just to be clear, these routes were installed prior to 2016, when the Jefferson County Open Space regulations regarding permits for new fixed hardware placement went into effect. If you think you saw additional new bolted routes that are not what is described above and on the Recessed Slab page, please let me know asap, as these would be in violation of JeffCo's policy (as no applications for new routes on the Lower Tier have been submitted). Happy climbing.
