I'm a travelling Kiwi touring through the USA and Canada for the next 6 months. I have had 10y of international rock climbing experience. I am looking for a climbing partner(s) for Boulder for any days 30June-2July.

It could be Boulder Canyon or Flatirons or ElDorado or anything else in the area you are keen on.

I have my own car, rope, rack and am keen on multipitch routes mostly in the 5.6-5.8 range but will follow up to grade 5.10.

Cheers Kevin, txt or call me at 661-444-1623

Hi Kevin,

I live in Divide, Colorado and regularly climb in Elevenmile Canyon. I work tomorrow but looking for a climbing partner for Friday and possibly Saturday. I'd be glad to show you the area. I've been leading traditionally and bolted climbing for 15 years. Shoot me a email at rkclmbr510@gmail.com or a text at 719-466-0733 if you would be interested in grinding some stone together.

Cheers!

It was closed for about a month last summer, but has been open again since last July (if I remember correctly).

If you can avoid the weekend crowd, do so. This past weekend was the first time I had to wait in line to get on a route at 11-mile. Usually my partner and I have the place to ourselves.
Other than that, superb granite!

Please note I've edited this post now which was originally for 11mile

Hi Kevin (or anyone else),

Currently in Colorado springs for work until 4th of July and would gladly come out and climb a bit.

Have rope, qds and a trad rack (singles). Sport or trad.

I am quite flexible with times, so does not have to be evenings. Sent a DM.

We've had alot of rain recently, and the forcast calls for more. Climbing at either Red Rock Canyon Open Space, or Garden of the Gods is highly discouraged for a few days after a rain storm. The sandstone is weakened substantially by moisture, and many holds have been broken by climbing after a rainstorm. Some trad placements may even be unsafe after a heavy rain.

This restriction is currently voluntary, but it is listed in the rules and regulations.

If too many of us ignore the guidelines, seasonal closures could be in our future.

If you are avoiding 11-mile because it is too far away, then may I suggest Cheyenne Canyon as an alternative to GotG or RRC.

Hi,

Thanks for the remainder. That is true and should be respected.

Cheers!

It didn't rain at Garden of the Gods Monday and we climbed. You're actually getting more rain in Woodland Park. Out here it's been hit or miss, sometimes going east and dropping not a drop of rain.

The rains have not covered the entire area. In any case, if you still want to climb in town Cheyenne Canyon opened up again after road work for what seemed like a month.

Good to know. Thanks.

The forecast for the rest of this week looks pretty dreary though. But who knows, you may get lucky and no rain at GotG.

Clouds form over the area every afternoon, but they don't always dump here. Doing it right now as a matter of fact. No rain so far, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was again widely scattered.

Does anyone know if its rained in GOTG today?

Ok, the forecast looks horrible for tomorrow. I'm going to repost this as I'm heading north to Boulder where the rock (granite) is a bit more weather robust (than the CS sandstone at GOTG).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
