If you can avoid the weekend crowd, do so. This past weekend was the first time I had to wait in line to get on a route at 11-mile. Usually my partner and I have the place to ourselves. |

Please note I've edited this post now which was originally for 11mile |

Hi Kevin (or anyone else), |
|
We've had alot of rain recently, and the forcast calls for more. Climbing at either Red Rock Canyon Open Space, or Garden of the Gods is highly discouraged for a few days after a rain storm. The sandstone is weakened substantially by moisture, and many holds have been broken by climbing after a rainstorm. Some trad placements may even be unsafe after a heavy rain. |

Hi, |
|
It didn't rain at Garden of the Gods Monday and we climbed. You're actually getting more rain in Woodland Park. Out here it's been hit or miss, sometimes going east and dropping not a drop of rain. |

But who knows, you may get lucky and no rain at GotG. |

Clouds form over the area every afternoon, but they don't always dump here. Doing it right now as a matter of fact. No rain so far, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was again widely scattered. |
|
Does anyone know if its rained in GOTG today? |

Ok, the forecast looks horrible for tomorrow. I'm going to repost this as I'm heading north to Boulder where the rock (granite) is a bit more weather robust (than the CS sandstone at GOTG). |
