Is rain in the forecast every weekend normal for Linville Gorge?

I've been trying to work in a trip to Linville Gorge for a few weekends now,
Forecast has been for very high likelihood of rain almost every weekend
Yet when I look later often it's very small rainfall - .01 or .02 inches.
Has this been an unusual weather period lately or is this normal?
Can you usually still climb because the rain is light and falls in the afternoons?
Thanks for your thought

Pretty much the standard summer forecast in the SE is 30% chance of afternoon and evening storms. Kinda par for the course around here. Doesn't mean you'll get wet where you are, but you should get an early start in Linville to increase your odds.

What kind of overnight and daytime temps are we looking at also? I've only been once, this past March, and it was definitely cooler at night than lower elevations. I am hoping to head that way soon again, but temperature is another factor influencing my decision.

summer time nights up there are quite nice, bring a jacket for sure, did hammock camping there 2-3 weekends ago, did not get cold. Probably in the mid 40s if I had to guess a temp. If your climb is in the sun it can get brutal very quickly(bring sunscreen). Have a bail plan for rain if you are climbing, it gets hairy quick when you cant hear or see your climber/belayer cause of the rain. agree with above, late afternoon rain is pretty common

An early start is good insurance--though not failsafe. If you're planning to do anything on the east face of Table Rock be aware that you may not see a storm until it is directly overhead.

I don't know the story, but I've long assumed that Lightening Ledge came by its name honestly.

That's pretty typical for summer time forecast around here. That's basically the forecast June thru sept here. I've gotten rained on plenty of times with 30% forecast, but usually not before getting in a number of routes (Early start helps). I've also had great days climbing on 70% forecast days where by the time clouds started to get threatening, we were worn out, content and headed back to the car anyways.

Welcome to the high country in the south east.

very typical. Climbed in the Amphitheater from sunrise to sunset back in early June despite the forecast calling for 90% chance of rain nearly all day.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
