I have never heard of anything up by white pine lake. However from the white pine trailhead there is climbing at the Red Pine Crag. Typically one or two pitch routes with a little bit of a alpine feeling. The routes I have done are a little dirty but a great way to get out of the heat in the summer. ..http://www.mountainproject.com/v/red-pine-crag/107225926

Red pine was way fun during the winter and I cannot wait to check out that crag. A friend hiked to red pine a few days ago and sent pictures of snow. It is too bad about no climbing at white pine, I may not have a reason to go up there. Haha. Thank you for your response!
