I'm coming out to CO from TN w/ 8 people in late July and want to hire 3 or 4 guys to guide us to a cool site and help pack us out to a campsite. Sorta like you getting paid to go hike one day. We will leave mid-day on Sat the 30th and hike back down following morn. Will pay $125 plus your meals and maybe even adult beverages if so inclined.

I'll save someone else the trouble since this question will get asked.

CO is fairly large and a cool site is fairly vague. You'll probably have more luck if you provide a few more details on your expectations for the trip.

And be prepared for people mocking your offer, regardless of whether it's reasonable.

Yeah, it might be better to offer $125 in gas money, rather than wages for work inside federal lands.

First off, while it might not have been your intention, the subject of your post definitely breaks guideline #1 (don't be a jerk), specifically towards those of the Sherpa ethnic group; unless you are actually wanting to hire someone from the Sherpa ethnic group. Although I doubt you can afford to pay a Sherpa what he/she is actually worth (not dissing you, just saying that actual Sherpa's are worth far more than $125 per day).

Secondly, whomever provides the services you're requesting is required to have commercial use permits for the land in which the services are being provided (national park, national forest, BLM, etc.)

I'm not trying to mock your post at all; merely stating the facts.

If you would like to pursue this legally, private message me and I'd be happy to connect you with reputable guides who have permits in the area of your 'cool site'.

agreed "porter" not "sherpa"

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
