I'm going to Russia to climb Elbrus in June. Any pointers for entering or exiting at the Moscow airport? I've heard some horror stories about being charged extra "taxes".

Sheremetyevo airport is nice and easy to navigate as long as your visa is in order - I had no difficulties either transferring to the domestic hop to MinVody or on the way back when I spent a week hanging out in Moscow. MinVody can be trickier. I opted for the light package and airport transfer from Pilgrim Tours, which eliminated all of the hassles - well worth the minimal cost.

While climbing Elbrus, North route, I slipped and fell and sprained my left ankle and knee. Only 2 days ago. X-rays looked good, but hurts like hell. I was only on day 2 and not able to even move past high camp. Now I'm having a really hard time excepting failure... Anyone else have problems like this?

Currently stuck in the hostel till the team comes back from their summit on Monday. :(

It happens. I had to bail on Aconcagua because of HAPE. It was a bummer, but you just have to try again some other time.
