And the patriots? |

owen david wrote: Didn't you say you had music playing? Maybe that's why he shouted? You know my grandma used to make tapioca, but I didn't care for it. I'm glad she gave me Tapioca instead of second hand smoke. Tapioca 1, Disser 0. I think it's cool that you obliged another climber and put your cig out. This forum is all about words, but I respect your actions that day. I get that people want to smoke in the outdoors and not get hassled. Smoking is one of life's indulgences. I don't want to interfere with anyone else's lives or their pursuit of indulgence. Because of your actions I will go out of my way next time to be as considerate as you were. Smoking is a personal choice. It's not my choice so maybe I'll start packing a respirator to put on until the person next to me finishes there smoke break. uline.com/Product/Detail/H-…You're starting to get obnoxious about this. Give it a rest. |

I still think that Owen needs to harden the fuck up. ;) |

Although it may be annoying to you, it may not be to others. No one person owns the crag unless of course its private. There are many things people do that bother me, but Im not so important that I am going to dictate the wilderness. I don't like it when people bring their dogs. I don't like it when people bring their small children. I don't like it when someone is listening to their shitty music on their bluetooth speakers. However, they aren't breaking any laws, and unless someone is doing something unsafe enough to compromise MY safety than I either deal with it or leave and climb another day. Everyone thinks they are so important these days. |

With time and training I see Owen turning into a fine troll, perhaps on the level of the stinky hippy. In only his second thread he is gaining infamy. It doesn't get much better than getting people to repeatedly physically threaten you! |

For the record, I have not yet quit blowing the smoke of my choice, into the eyes of children...I am trying to cut back a bit.... |

I am the original offender that inspired this discussion by smoking a cig at Texas Canyon last Sunday. |

DF..... good luck with the rehab. Good on you for recognizing and admitting to your problem...the first of many steps. |

Guy Keesee wrote:DF..... good luck with the rehab. Good on you for recognizing and admitting to your problem...the first of many steps. But Texas Canyon??? Good greef man! You need rehab so you will stay away from gross choss... its not good for ones climbing.Yeah I don't think I'm a fan but I only got on a handful of routes that day. I'd always avoided it until now, because I hadn't been out in a while and was getting desperate. It seems like even the handful of harder routes were still on pretty low-angle terrain, and I'm not into that. Looks like there's still potential for some steep, juggy stuff that I came across while I was hiking around though. I do like punchbowl though. Similar rock, but steeper, and far cleaner. |

I going to name my first adopted refugee..... |

StonEmber wrote:I going to name my first adopted refugee..... Owen. Thanks for all the inspiration brother. I am cutting back, because when I am making out with a lady, I find myself coughing. This will not do...Unless that's her thing. I got with a lady that wanted me to smoke during sex, so there's gotta be a woman out there that wants you to smoker's cough on her during. Have Hope, Friend. Ms. Right is out there waiting for you. |

You fill me with hope again, Disaster.... |

Disaster Franklin wrote:I am the original offender that inspired this discussion by smoking a cig at Texas Canyon last Sunday. Some updates: I have admitted myself to a rehab facility in Pasadena to cure myself of my addiction to nicotine. So far it's been a rough time, but the staff is very patient with me and the food is good. I have been in talks with the land managers at the USFS to have a plaque installed at the base of the Egg formation at Texas Canyon, commending Owen David's crusade against smoking in one of the world's rapidly shrinking, truly natural spaces. Because Owen refused to admit it was me, and that he was there on sunday, I have, as promised, donated $100 to the Donald Trump campaign. So if any of you really, really like trump, please send a thank you PM to user Owen David. Namaste DFOh when I was climbing there last Monday there was a red bandana tied to the tree. I'm guessing it was left behind by someone in your group. It's probably still there if you want to retrieve it. |
