Does anyone know the story behind this 'colorful' route name? We've already set a historical precedent in updating route names that may cast the climbing community in a poor light with us and them, aka negro girls. mountainproject.com/v/route… This is merely a fact-finding mission. What do you guys think?Call owen david....see what he thinks. Young Scott Loomis put that thing up, way way way back.... do you have a problem with "Black Water?" |

Guy Keesee wrote: do you have a problem with "Black Water?"I mean, as a middle-class white man who benefits from deeply entrenched systems of power and control, it is not my call as to whether or not the water being 'black' is offensive or not. But it does seem to be awfully old-fashioned. Maybe something like 'diverse, genderfluid multicultural water' would be more fitting in today's society. Owen David could not be reached for comment at this time. I remember you from tuesday night bouldering at Stoney a while back. Sadly all those crag cigs have left me too infirm for bouldering, so I can only sport climb now. |

"Agua" is a feminine noun, although you do say "el agua" to satisfy some obscure rule about not having a stressed "a" after the feminine article "la". |

Seriously? .. |

Christian wrote:"Agua" is a feminine noun, although you do say "el agua" to satisfy some obscure rule about not having a stressed "a" after the feminine article "la". Therefore, this name is grammatically incorrect and highly offensive to Spanish speakers everywhere!!! I cannot contain my outrage! GrrrrrrrrWrong. It's "El Agua". Masculine noun. Blackwater. What's the issue? Oops. From Google: Agua is always feminine, even in singular form. However, to avoid the double 'a' sound in la agua, we use the article el in singular form. In all other respects, agua is still feminine when singluar. The same is true for other feminine nouns that begin with an accented 'a'. |

Falling onto pads from height is a young man's sport, and I don't feel like a young man anymore. |
