We're planning on doing the Direct Route there tomorrow but it seems the topo is a little vague for the most part, and the general consensus on the guide comments and the Gillett guide seems to be that the slab is so featured it's not worth worrying about a topo.
That said, we're taking double ropes in case we have to bail off of the bolted anchors on Camel Toe. But can anyone speak to the ease or difficulty in making it up the Direct Route (5.7) without hitting anything harder than 5.8 or really runout?
I think that route is in this book. Might be worth looking at the topo? I haven't climbed that route, but Camel Toe is fun.

The exact line is not totally obvious. I remember just piecing together different cracks and flakes, so the difficultly will depend on your route finding skills.

Don't worry about the topos and route descriptions too much. I've been twice and both times was able to figure out how to climb the features we wanted to hit. You can wander all over as it is pretty low angle for the most part. It's a great day out, so have fun!
Suburban....why do you keep raising threads from the dead? Its not even like this thread is a hidden gem chock full of amazing information for beginners.
