I'm packing for a week trip to Sinks. Does anyone know how the mosquito situation is? I'd like to sleep in a megamid (open tarp tent) in the canyon and maybe in the park but I'll bring a different tent if its getting buggy.

Thanks for any info.

I was there last Thurs-Sat, using the same tent setup, and did okay. Some bugs in the evening, but not bad. Slept well, and mornings were fine. The river is coming up, and there may be more bugs. The melt is on, so possibly getting worse.
Have fun!

Mosquitos have been seen in numbers in sinks, but so far clear in town. It's also relatively chilly at night, so they go down early in the evening. You should be fine with a mid for the next week, but not much longer after..

I spent a few nights this week up by the Bruce's parking area (Cabin Boulders) and was pretty overwhelmed with the little biters around the same time every night. It was pretty bad, but only for like that 2 hour period around dusk. I was very happy to have a fully enclosed tent though that's for sure.
