OR guidebooks? Smith Rock, Trout Creek, central bouldering, etc.

Moving to Oregon soon, super excited to see all the rock up there! What is the best guidebook for Smith Rock? Is there also a good one for Trout Creek? (or other guidebook recommendations, central oregon bouldering or anything northeastern area)?

I tried to search on MP to see if there was a previous thread about this, instead only found the typical MP forum fight-fest about this bouldering guide: mountainproject.com/v/new-b…

Also climbing gear shops?

Most climbers I know have the Alan Watts guide. Red Point is the climbing store as you get off the main highway. For Trout Creek I bought the Rakkup app... though MP landing page is pretty comprehensive.

Gear shop recs depending on where you are in OR.

Red Point is probably my favorite gear shop because beer and espresso after a day of climbing is great.

If you're moving to Portland, Next Adventure is a good shop, but there are a ton of outdoor stores in the area.

Trout Creek has a guide available as a free PDF or paid hardcopy. Supposedly there is also a bucket stashed at the crag with a copy of the book. If you can't find the PDF download, feel free to PM me for a copy.

For Smith, Watt's Bible + MP

I think I mentioned to you before about Spring Mountain, and Olson's Northwest Oregon Rock has a little info about it and other obscure places in Oregon. MP also has info on Spring Mountain.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
