Anyone been up to the eastern sierras in the past couple of weeks? Specifically, the Kearsage Pass area? Looking to do a couple of 2 night treks and I'm not sure what the snow situation is like.

I would call the ranger district and ask but seeing as many people are still skiing on the eastside I'd say there's plenty of snow above 10k.

esavalanche.org/snowpack-su… A few weeks old but could help.

Was up in Onion Valley on Sunday the 24th. Hiked to Gilbert/Flower lake. No snow on trail besides one small 100m boot pack low-angle section. Gilbert snow free, Flower has some snow around the banks but plenty of pockets free of snow.

Passed a party on the way down who went to the top of the pass. They didn't have crampons or axes-said there was one sketchy section where an axe would be desirable but the trail was definitely bootpacked. I'm guessing above Flower there is quite a bit of snow above 10.7k. Hope this helps. New storm that moved in today looked like it blanketed the whole area in some new snow.
