Hello climbing community,

Has anyone played with the new front pieces from Petzl you can buy individually? I recently picked up the Irvis front sections to use and when pairing it my my Lynx heel/connecting bar I can't get it to sit flush. See below. Will contact Petzl, but any suggestions?

Versus the Lynx front section:

I've never seen that. I'd probably just relieve the metal tabs contacting the center bar. It doesn't look like much interference.

I have a pair of the new Sarkens and don't have an issue with the fit of the bar. I suspect they made the bar slightly narrower, it might be worth picking up a spare set of new center bars to go with the new toes or get out the file and take a little material off of yours. I'd go new though so you still have a snug fit on your current Lynx toes with your current bars.

Hey all,

Heard back from Petzl this morning:

"Thanks for your mail. The NEW VERSION LINKING BAR will work on the new version crampons and the previous version crampons (non Flex version not on our website, but available. Part number is T03A BA). The previous version linking bar isn't compatible with the new version Irivis. "

So consider this an FYI for anyone who is/was in a similar position as myself.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
