Hi there,

I'm traveling through San Jose for work and hoping to get some climbing in, potentially in Yosemite, but I'm open to any ideas, really. Never climbed in CA before.

I've been in and out of climbing for some years, so not a noob but I'm not so advanced. I'm looking to play around and explore in 5.7-5.9 range, sport or trad. Can lead trad on easy stuff, happy to follow on trad. Could also be into bouldering, but haven't bouldered outside in some years (V3 indoors).

Prefer female or genderqueer partners, but whatever. Basically if you want an enthusiastic buddy for anything not so extreme around the Sierras anytime after 5/27, hit me up!

Hi Allison,

I'm looking for partners during that time as well, but don't have trad gear or any trad lead experience (have followed only). Would be up for sport climbing lower grade stuff (up to 5.10s) as you mentioned. Most of my experience is in the gym but am enthusiatic and willing to explore sierras with you if you want. Maybe we could find another more experienced person to climb with or I'm open to hiring a guide for benefit of learning and safety first.

^^^^^ Really? You're confused about the term? The rationale behind the request?

... and if uncertain about the definition, google seems to have a good one.

For what its worth

denoting or relating to a person who does not subscribe to conventional gender distinctions but identifies with neither, both, or a combination of male and female genders.
"the genderqueer community"

2.
a person who does not subscribe to conventional gender distinctions but identifies with neither, both, or a combination of male and female genders.

Allison - I honestly did not pay attention to your gender preference comments, and thus, the impetus behind it. I am simply looking for a climbing buddy for a few days. That is all.

I think he was more confused about the preference.

That's asking a lot of this bunch.

I'd be game for the Valley this weekend, but the weather looks pretty shitty.

Hey Allison (and anyone else who is interested),

I am also looking for a partner to climb with. I am in CA until the end of August and I don't know anyone! I can lead sport, 5.12- but I would just be happy to get on some rock of any grade. I also like to boulder and I can follow trad. I am close to Sonora and Fridays are best for me, could make Saturday and Sunday work. Let me know if you'd like to get out!
