Occasionally jobs come up at the Caltech Radio Observatory (OVRO).

I agree with Guy - home prices are prohibitive right now - I'd happily live there, maybe when I retire.

OVRO has pretty much shut down after their funding got yanked last year.

Yes the array had its funding cut - welcome to space research - I helped evaluate and test those little antennas here at JPL for possible deep space probe tracking. The cost of remediation will be huge, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's a future plan to use that resource for something else. Caltech antennas will continue to operate, particularly the 40m.

What I'm looking for is a nice OVRO consultant job in Bishop when I retire from NASA :-)
