Hey guys, I'm about to buy this rope from someone, but they don't remember the model and diameter of the rope. Just wanted to see if anyone recognizes this Edelrid rope and knows anything about it?

thanks!

If you look hard enough there should be a data base for batch numbers of the ropes. That will tell you all you need to know. I use beal ropes and they use this data base: beal data base

I would assume there is something similar for Edelrid ropes. It might be easier to hit up the company.

The Energy 9.5 Curve 9.8 and Element 10.2 are made by Edelwiess not Eldrid

I don't recall Edelrid making single pick sheaths anytime in the recent past. Look on the tag for a production date. I suspect that rope, even in bands in several years old. You can find a new Edelrid Boa for $100 so make sure the "deal" is worth it

My Edelrid Hawk (bought it 3 yr ago) is single pic sheath. Solid color though, and I doubt OP's rope is a Hawk.

Also, I think you're right about maybe that being an old rope. I haven't seen the big yellow end tape/marking like that in quite a while.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
