Hey all, going to flagstaff with a buddy next week for bouldering and wondering if flagstaff has a guidebook? I've mostly done my research around mountain project and haven't seen a guidebook available for the area.

What camping spots do you all recommend by the way? We were thinking of staying at Lake View Campground, since it was decently close to priests draw, any other spots we should keep in mind?

Update: Do you all think Marshall lake would be good to camp at? Just noticed that Lake View is $20 a night, sheeeeeesh.

Marshall lake allows dispersed camping though, would the roads be open by next week?

Why don't you camp at Priest Draw? As you drive into the Draw there are roads heading into the forest on the left. Camp where you like.

Marshall Lake road may be fine; check with the Coconino Natl Forest for any problems if you stay there.

All the way along high way 89a from sedona to flagstaff from the homes to the overlook has camping on both sides of the road you just have to close the gates when you enter. It's all free. We've stayed here 35.053235,-111.732495 probably 30 minutes from priest draw or so, but there is closer.

Thanks Dominic! Does bouldering topo not exist anymore? I would have gladly re-purchased it but I don't see any trace of their site anymore.

I'm not sure.....and as far as camping goes, I'd recommend taking crimson road (as if you were going to the draw) and about a mile in take a left on a gravel covered road. Theres plenty of spots and its free....and also puts you 5 minutes from priest draw.

No one guide for Flagstaff areas.
Sedona has a decent new guide (Bloom/Wolfe). This guide includes the Overlook and the Waterfall areas.
Paradise forks has its own guide (Bloom).
The Pit has its own guide (Miller).
Thats about it. Mountain Project for the rest.

Most locals will be happy to share info and beta.

Check out the Winslow Wall!

Not sure if it's still available, but there was an electronic version of a bouldering guide for Flagstaff that was available at Flagstaff Climbing. Very well done, I thought. Camping at Priest is the way to go.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
