Smith May 13th-20th? Partners?

Hey everybody, I'm going to be in the PNW from May 13th - May 20th. The first two or three days I'm going to be in Tacoma, WA watching my sister graduate from college. I extended my ticket afterwards in order to get some climbing in. My first thought was to drive up to Squamish but from what I hear it will likely still be peak rainy season up there right? My next thought was to drive down to Smith Rock. Is that a good time of year for Smith? I generally onsite 10's for sport and work 11's and I am just starting trad so leading like 5.5-5.7. Multi-pitch is a plus though I have limited experience with it. Any place else I should have on the list? I know it's not a ton of time so I was thinking of just staying in one spot, plus that way it should be easier to find partners right? Anybody looking for a partner around that time?

Is the new Alan Watts 2nd edition guidebook for Smith my best bet?

Smith weather should be a good bet during that window. Could even be pretty warm, you never know. Latest Watts edition is the go to for Smith, nothing else comes close.

Still need a partner? I'll be in Redmond from the 14th to the 22nd and I wanna check out Smith rock during that time. I haven't done trad yet but I can lead 5.10 sport.

Jay, yes I still need partners. I'm talking to one person already on here and we are trying to coordinate schedules. I got more information about my trip and my climbing days for sure are Monday-Thursday (16th-19th). Friday I might be able to do a couple routes but I also might drive back to washington and try to do a couple routes there closer to the airport (or just take a rest day).

I for some reason thought that mid-may was much further away and had no idea that I had to leave in a week. I ordered the Watts guidebook but it probably won't get here before I leave, I paid for the slow shipping, haha. Hope to see some of y'all out there.

Alright I think I've responded to everybody about partners now. I'll be in Smith for sure Tuesday the 17th - Thursday the 19th and probably Monday the 16th too unless I decide to stay in Washington that day and climb there.

Really want to focus on multi-pitch and am now considering bringing my rack out there to do some easy trad.

Shout out to Andrew for letting me borrow his guidebook while I'm gone, I appreciate it! Super psyched!

I'm headed to Smith next week. Bringing ropes, rack, and want to knock off a few classics. Monkey face, Zion, spiderman, wherever I may roam, first kiss, etc. These should be fun easy multi pitch routes. I'd be up to climb harder too. Happy to lead low 10 trads. PM me if interested.

Also how far is that rap off monkey face from the boulder. I have a second thin ripe I was going to take for the rap off, but chopped a couple meters off. Would a 60+55m reach or does it come close with dual 60's

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
