Just got back my TC pros from Plattsburgh Shoe Hospital yesterday. Can't speak to durability yet obviously, but Mark did an extremely thorough job, including tuning up the rand edges that tend to get ragged on the tc pros. The shoes look nearly new! Took about 2 weeks including shipping both ways.

This thread's old but since you bring it up, check out the great resole job Mark did on these TCs. You want stiff shoes? Resole with 5.5mm rubber!

The third resole by Mark this time done with 5.5mm rubber.

I hate to say it, but I've had terrible luck with new England resoul. Two pairs of shoes started to delaminate within a month of getting them back. Sent a pair to rock and resole and so far they're basically brand new. I had a bitch of a time finding their number though...

Similar experience with a pair I just got back. Seeing the toe start to peel a little, which is disappointing.

To offer my own anecdote, I've had New England resole my Testarossas twice now and been quite happy with them. He'll get them again when the time comes.

I've had Resoul do my Miura VS twice and been satisfied. I've also had Plattsburgh do my Miura lace twice and he does fine work as well, though he didn't use the rubber I requested.

A priority mail Tyvek envelope will get them anywhere in 2 days for cheap so other than supporting local business (which is why I usually try to use the above two), there's no reason you can't send them out West if you like their work. It's been 2-3 weeks for me whether I used the NE guys or Rock n Resole in Boulder.

I've had Ri at NE Resoul do a bunch of pairs of shoes. always been quality work, and when we've needed them quick he has been able to get them done. That said I had Locker do my last couple pairs, but I was driving out to J-Tree so I was able to pick them up. Fantastic work from him as well.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
