Wheekend whipper! Do not show the groundfall or cratering - love of all that is holy!

Climbing friend,

Why does the rocknice it shows the constant groundfalls and cratering in their wheekend whipper videos?

It is quite terrifying and unpleasant. I do not even watch the videos anymore because of htis, but it sometimes seems this is 2/3 of their whipper videos, or almost every one!

Please show instead massive whippers, the big ones, that are safe and do not involve injury, so I may once again enjoy watching them, instead of constant groundfalling. I need not be reminded every weekend how horrible it would be if I hit hte ground while climbing.

Perhaps if you would very much like, create a second section about the accidents or the poor practices if you would very much like, to analyze and educate the peoplesez as to what not to do or how the accidents occur on the climbing rocks and how to do the prevention.

The unbelayvable section of your competitor of the magazine of the climbing rocks, Climbing, is quite nice, yes, hmmmyahhhh, for example, and it does not force me to watch constant groundfalls on video.

Climbing friend,

No one is forcing you to watch ground falls, and the title of the video discloses what you will see and so provides fair warning. If your urge to rubberneck is overwhelming, this is not exactly a failing of the magazine, eh?

One might argue that showing a continual diet of falls that have no consequences plays into a growing misapprehension that climbing is perfectly safe, in which case the example of gear failures with serious consequences has a role to play in climber education.

Friend who Climbs, the neck meat gets thinner when watching videos instead of making bold flashes. Perhaps there is a 4 step process to solve this? I'm running out of neck meat too.

I always catch my son watching FAIL videos. Same thing, just torture to watch these guys wrecking bikes, and on trampolines and falling on punji sticks (oh, I guess I made that one up).

Climbing friend,
You must crush stone(and skulls) more often, myah? Do this, comrade, and the gratuitous groundfall shots published by Pebble and Plastic will trouble you no more.

Thanks for pointing me to the R&I whippers section. At least the guy wasn't wearing a helmet.

I got a free subscription to Rock and Ice after buying a piece of climbing gear. I hadn't read the magazine in many years and what I have noticed in the current magazine is that they do spend a lot of time dwelling on accidents, fatalities and "whippers".
Still an Ok mag but kinda morbid sometimes...

climbing friend gold,

Your points are most appropriate. I do not watch the videos when the title "crater" or "grounfall" peeks at me frmo the computer screen and is appeaering in my email inbox! I am telling to you I would like to watch them more, if they were not "crater" or "groundfall" videos!

I am aware lifelong pursuit of the great satisfaction of the boldest flash is not done in perfect safety, yet I still prefer safe fall videos and not death groundfall crater whipper!

Myah!

Words to live by. If it's not too much to ask, could I get that on a coffee mug ? Or maybe an inspirational calendar replete with breathtaking nature scenes to help me make it through the day?

Sometimes, lying awake at night, I worry that these forums have degenerated into a cesspool of narcissistic negativity populated solely by marauding ass-clowns. In times such as these, I want to have the courage to be my own annoying fuk. Thank you for your moral support.

To whatever acerbic rejoinders and invitations to go fuk myself that may follow -- I will respond in due time after the next three days of sunshine and splitters.

Aleks: shine on, you crazy diamond.
