Met Dan and I believe Larry. Both great guys, were setting up new routes on the left side of danland.

Cool! Figured it was them, they're always up there. They were excited to see people and I think they gave you some of the new topos?

Their relentless work has sure paid off with some of the diamonds in the rough up there at Danland!

No new topos, but they did mention that they were working a some new ones. However, they did point out some good routes that were not on MP or the topo.

Yo Guy, here's Santa Cruz dome right now. Approach looks mostly snow free.
4/20/16 Santa Cruz dome - SEKI

The last little system through (4/22) didn't dump much snow.

Which climb(s) are you planning out there on Santa Cruz Dome? The granite is great! Unbelievable to see NO choss, ANYWHERE.

limpingcrab - You made me a generous offer a few days back, and if you ever need help with the website let me know. I'm a software engineer and would be happy to contribute. Site looks and functions great, but if you ever have any questions, want to make some changes, or have any other projects feel free to reach out.

My old climbing buddy, Nick, did a FA way back in 1980... Funky Neurosis 5.10a. He told me back then... "I have never climbed on knobs that were so good..."

When the place was re-discovered a few years back, I was having great difficulty walking, yet alone climbing.... but thats getting better.

When I climbed at the Lover's Leap and on Moro rock, some climbs feature knob tie offs. On most of those, I didn't feel very confident with the pro. But, when I tied off knobs on Lower Tokopah Dome, I was sure my rope would pop before any of those things could.
Makes me want to go back.

....If anyone goes to repeat Tokopah Reality (Lower Tokopah Dome), which is seriously a very fun and memorable route, you are welcome to add another bolt to the first pitch. After the roof (there is pro there). Someone said it is too runout to the first bolt after that. Shouldn't of been very scary, as the first bolt was added AFTER the FA to make it less of a scary pitch. But anyway, none of us give a shit if there is one more bolt added there, as it is still fairly heady getting up to the first. But not too bad honestly. If someone adds a bolt, place a note on here or the route page.

Any chance you could add a page to Danland showing where the various areas on your topos are? Thanks.

Dan and Larry Z are working on short descriptions with gear recommendations and stuff for the routes. I think they're also making a little overview page showing the location of the areas.

The topo on my site is just whatever they make but if the next version doesn't include that overview I can make one myself. I was thinking it could use the same thing.

Thanks. Danland looks like fun. Maybe even winter fun.

It is a great Fall/Spring or even summer wall with a very short approach in comparison to most of the BC SEKI quality stuff. Retro-bolting the Happy Dome would be good service to community as well...probably...wish I had more time.

Alright, Big Baldy, or what I know about it, is up just in time for the road to be closed :) Great formation in every way, check it if you want quality climbing to yourself.
