Wondering if anyone has some insight as to what areas/routes may stay driest as we are about to have some decent rains over the next 48hrs in the greater philly area.
I've had some success during wet days at Stover but don't feel like climbing there if there's any other options. Birdsboro maybe? Safe Harbor seems to seep crazy even days after rains. Chickies? Any help would be much appreciated.
Do long, overhanging lead laps at Go Vert in Philly. Some routes stay dry for a bit at birdsoboro, but eventually they all start to seep. Or go check out one of the many PRG locations. Good bouldering in Valley, East Falls and Wyncote. Good lead lap potential at Valley and oaks.
I know. Hate being in that mindset of wanting to climb but conditions don't align. Our party had an amazing long wkend last wkend in the Gunks. I'm so ready to keep pushing it, but your post was sobering and grounding: use this weekend to develop technique and endurance.
I have a friend who really likes the EarthTrex down in MD so maybe we go try something new. He said there's lots of cool features despite the routes being graded super soft (he mentioned leading 9+ comfortably at our home gym and showed up there flashing 11s). Who knows.
