Great idea! Thank you for all your hard work! |

I'd started a thread a while back ISO my shoe soul mate who could trade one shoe with me. One thing that might be an issue is mens vs. womens in street shoe size. I put in my street shoe size as 7.5 and it reads as 40 Euro. In euro sizing I'm a 37 or 38. I guess it was reading men's 7.5?Bah! you're absolutely right, it is doing mens sizing. I'll come up with a solution to this.... Sorry about that. For now, enter your street size as your Eur size, and it should give you something a little more accurate across the board. |

I hope it grows! Thanks for the suggestion, a couple of people have suggested this. It's on my list for future features, but dont expect it any time soon. |

I hope it grows! This would be a great addition actually - knowing if your foot is the same shape as a certain shoe goes a long way to determining how they will fit. |

Eddie, It's not a big deal - you might be able to get away with just clarifying that street sizing is Euro/Men sizing. I have a pair of 5.10 men's approach shoes, so I know I wear a men's 5.5. I also know from borrowing my kids shoes that Girl 6.0 is bigger than Women's 7.0. Sizing in shoes (and clothes) is absolutely crazy. |

I love the idea but haven't been able to get any of my current shoes (like, five different 5.10 models) to match to the two scarpa shoes I"m interested in. |

What a cool idea for a site! |

Like us on Facebook Tell your friends about SizeSquirrel. Let everyone at your climbing gym know. Shout it at the crag. Tell your enemies about SizeSquirrel." Sounds like they just want to get my email or FaceBook like to spam me. I'm a skeptic. There is no viable alternative to trying on climbing shoes. Every foot is different. I find my sizes vary greatly even within the same brand. Unless you live in Middle-of-Nowhere Nebraska you are better off going to your local climbing store/gym/REI and trying on the shoes.Hey Brian thanks for the feedback. Sorry you're so hesitant to sign up. Unfortunately because the site is driven by user information I would like to incentivize people to signup and make accounts. If you do have a profile with shoes you'll have a much higher chance of finding a match and get access to a bunch of features which you wouldn't have as a non registered user. What am I going to do with your email? I'll probably send out a newsletter at some point, limited to 1 email a month, hopefully you'll find it somewhat interesting. But I understand your hesitation still. Feel free to register with a fake email, and fake name. |

Sorry you can't find a match. I'm improving the matching algorithm and as more people sign up it'll be easier to find a match. Tell your friends to sign up :) |

It seems like you should make that much clearer. I hope that I'm reading your post wrong, because if what you are doing is blocking results for non-users, then you should make that much clearer. I don't have much use for a shoe sizing website other than a cursory "I wonder what size shoe compares between x and y" and have very little interest in creating and account or being part of a "community" that just inputs shoe data. I was excited to try your site, but if you are intentionally blocking the functionality to non-users then you should at least be up front about it and not let them search without an account. |

Can you add European sizes? It seems like there might be inconsistencies in conversion charts from Euro to US sizes. Most of my recent shoes are Euro sizes. |

If you're not registered it uses a simpler matching algorithm (because I only have information for a single shoe that you have). If you are registered and fill out your profile with multiple shoes, then it uses all of your shoes to try to find a match instead of a single shoe. |

I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but I don't see myself (or many other people) registering for a site they plan to use once especially if it doesn't work the first time they try it. Had it given me a result when i was trying to get one the first time, I might have registered. However since the whole point of the website is to compare different shoes/shoe sizing, the fact that the one job the website had, it failed at, didn't make me go "oh, since this doesn't work I will sign up for the site!" If you can make the site work when you input many shoes for registered users, why can't you make it work if you enter multiple shoes for unregistered users? |

If you can make the site work when you input many shoes for registered users, why can't you make it work if you enter multiple shoes for unregistered users? Not rude at all Rob, I appreciate the feedback and concern. There are several reasons for this behavior: - From a user interface/design perspective I think it would be cumbersome to input many shoes and sizes, specially as features expand. So now you're searching for the shoe, then selecting size, and fit. Some people have 10+ shoes... If you leave the site and ever come back you'll have to add all those shoes again. - The site literally does not work without user data. While I dont mind offering simple matching for unregistered users. Everybody wins when users sign up and fill out their profile. Hopefully as the site grows and features are added you might find reasons to use it more than once. Personally I love having my profile as a reminder of what sizes I wear... |
