CASA Adopt a Crag at Windy point today. Meet at the BLOC for food at 8 then up the mountain to pick up trash and do erosion control!

Wow, what a great turnout. With 60+ volunteers a load of trash was picked up and tons of rock was moved to create erosion control structures. No one was injured and and everyone had a good time. Thanks CASA for organizing this event and to all the Tucson climbers who gave up a day of climbing to give back.

Old photo but same story, great weather, great people doing hard work for the entire community climbers and non-climbers alike!

The wind is supposed to be blowing today so I would stay a little lower and be willing to adjust.

Time to start chasing the shade. Boneyard will be coming in and as you probably noticed there are a ton of new routes there. It is a good idea to take a 70M rope and tie a knot in the end of the rope.

Another day in the 80s in Tucson. Temp at the top of Mt Lemmon in the 60's. Climb anywhere from Chessmen to the top. I would hit the sun up high and shade if you are low.

It is another lovely day in Tucson but it could get windy later. Almost any where that gets you out of the wind is a good bet except for the very top.

For the last two or three weeks Jim Scott and I have been developing some towers 5 minutes below the Boneyard. With Temperatures in the 40s in the mornings and 50 - 60 later in the day and howling west winds we have been able to work and climb comfortably. Boneyard is still one of my favorite crags on the mountain I just wish it had more than one 5.12. The one and two pitch routes are really good and you will get more mileage out of five routes here than 10 at Raycreation!

Headstones a few minutes below the Boneyard

Any chance you have a copy left?

I have 2500 left. I have only sold 500 books at this point. It takes 10 - 15 years to sell out down here.

Any idea is the Montrose Fire is near Troll Wall or any other climbing area?

3 miles NW of Rose Canyon lake is pretty far from Troll Wall, more towards the Scout Camp (Druid, Outcroppings, etc), Box Camp (Ireland & Spectrum Wall trails) or Mt Bigelow area..

Says "small", so hopefully done by this weekend, fingers crossed..

Under control, Rose Canyon lake will be open tomorrow

edit: could have sworn I read an article that says the above, apparently they've changed their mind since

Pretty wild watching the big Choppers dropping into Rose Canyon to load up water buckets as we left Headstones yesterday.

Going to be hot this weekend, chase the shade avove 7000 ft.

Once again despite high winds and high Temps the boneyard was the perfect place to climb.

It is a crazy spring! 82 degrees for a high today in Tucson. If the Beaver Wall has your project on it you need to be there today. Nearly perfect temps in the afternoon.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
