Cat urine on cams

uric acid, which is found in human piss, can degrade nylon and other textile products, severely reducing its strength. I don't know if cat urine contains uric acid, but I'd go ahead and replace the slings anyways. Metolius will replace the slings for cheap on their cams, and they'll also clean and re-lube them and inspect for any damage so definitely send your metolius cams back to them.

Here's an awesome US climber-run business that will do reslings for a good price

I would not follow this advice.

Black Diamond tested cat piss on nylon awhile back. They found the piss had an adverse effect on the material's strength. You can find the article on their website.

5% strength loss, possibly within the standard error of the testing.

I couldn't find the original report from BD. Maybe bear can, and maybe also the Stuttgart report referenced.

For all practical purposes, that is neutral.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
