See message thread for updates!

I'm an engineer by profession (Don't worry, I have a personality and I'm not THAT socially awkward.), but am taking a sabbatical as long as I'm making good use of my time off from work.

I'm looking for another competent climber of similar ability. I don't need to push my limits every time I get on rock, but I like a challenge every now and then. I have gear for bouldering, sport, and trad. I don't care whether you're wanting to travel too, or just live close to great climbing and need a partner (preferably on weekdays).

I'm on a budget, and paying for camping sucks, but if there's a good scene, running water, and it's cheap I don't mind (Squamish, Horse Pens 40, Horseshoe Canyon Ranch).

I'm currently in Oklahoma (There's climbing in Oklahoma?!), and am willing to go anywhere with good climbing and good weather. I have people waiting for me to visit them (not for climbing) in Florida, Maryland, and New Jersey, and I have weddings to go to in Missouri (April 30th) and Colorado (June 3rd). Other than that, I don’t have much direction. I’ve already hit up a lot of the western half of the country and some major spots in the Southeast (HP40, Chatty, The Ozarks), so I’d like to focus on the East.

Some places I'm already considering are The Red, The New, Laurel Knob, Jackson Falls, Linville, Rocktown, and Hounds Ears (Triple Crown, April 16th), but I'm open to suggestions.

Typical rest day activities that I enjoy are mountain biking, road cycling, swimming, visiting breweries, and photography hikes. Check out my Instagram to see what I'm all about, and respond here or message me directly if you're interested in meeting up!

Hey man, I dig what your up to. I am free for a few months and I am looking to climb before it gets to hot out in the East. I love the New and it is very easy to dirtbag there. Having said that the Red is always a great time. I was planning on heading out to the New this weekend but the weather is a little iffy. Looks like we climb at about the same level as well. I would love to meet up with ya and get up some stuff at the Red, considering weather is less of a factor there. Talk to you soon.

If you're considering laurel knob and Linville it might be worth your time to look into looking glass and ship rock. Both areas will have a consistent flow of climbers.

Thanks for the suggestions William!

Stephen, I'll send you a message.

The Triple Crown at Hounds Ears is sold out and I failed to purchase my registration in time, so I'm heading to Florida this weekend to visit family. I can leave there on Monday, April 18th and don't have to be in Missouri until Saturday, April 30th. That gives me almost two weeks to climb and explore more in the Southeast!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
