haul points on alpine pack

My bag has three points though i see plenty with two though so what gives? I can see benefits of both three points being more stable and 2 points moving around the terrain and more minimalist. Any body got any ideas?

Mine, haul bag included, only have 2.

It's an interesting question for those who make/modify stuff themselves.

Same three points on the Osprey Variant.
My guess is that three points reduces the "exposed" edge of the bag which could catch on a lip? it keeps the pack more in-line with the pull direction.

I'm not seeing haul points; just upper points to secure a pair of ice tools to the pack.

the alpine attack uses the compression straps (i would know i have it) and the nordwand uses velcro. clearer in other pictures

The pic of the Lowe alpine alpine attack i posted before from closer inspection appears to be my packs previous generation this is a close up of the haul points and ice axe system.

The Simond sprint has two haul loops but in this case they are pulling double duty.
Edit: After looking at all the packs i have presented and looking at a load of north american packs it appears to be very European to have 3 haul loops.
