Connor Columns looks like some fun basalt, does anyone know current conditions? Is there snow, is the approach road doable with a Subaru? Fall back plan is Dierkes Lake. Thanks

Would have been tropical a few days ago, but with Sunday's storm, our area hasn't recovered yet. I've climbed at the Columns a few times and I'd say that the area gets maybe 5-10 visitors per year. Bring your wide gear.

This should be a great time to get up to the columns, the rattle snakes might not be out yet...

I've been sick for a few days but we ended up there on Saturday morning and the conditions and climbing was good. No snakes but all we were thinking was this place probably has a lot of snakes when things heat up. Anyway I loved the climbing there, lots of opportunity for protection so you can focus on pushing your jamming skills rather than wondering if you can get pro in once you make the move. Snakes at the columns, ticks at LCC, pick your poison. Thanks for the info people.
